Tracks Are Dangerous!!!

I’m a fan of Michael Robertson – I subscribe to his ‘Michael’s Minute’ and admire his drive to break the status quo and agree with many of his articles. Interestingly, as I realize when writing this, I have subscribed to only a few of his companies services and not stuck with them, why is that?

Send your prospect away….

They claim “At Magnolia, we provide an exceptional experience from the moment you walk through our doors. Our stores feature comfortable demonstration rooms, knowledgeable consultants and premium brands that deliver outstanding performance.”So I strolled!

Amazon Unbox – Copyright really does rule?

I have talked before about Amazon’s Unbox movie download service – primarily about the usabilty of the service at the Amazon end – before…. Once you start to watch the download, it’s available for 24 hours to watch as often as you wish (one niggle, it’s actually 24 hours minus the running time of the movie).

Ford comes up trumps – or people matter most…..

I’ve just finished a “thank you” letter to the dealer’s service agent who has, he said with crossed fingers, etc, etc., finally fixed my car. Copied to the General Manager of course. An update. It got worse, much worse…. They replaced TWO more coils, at a much (and I do mean much) reduced rate, and that seemed reasonable to me.Each day the car was in, Jack called with a status update, even when there was little positive he could say.

KQED – the tale continues…..

But every time I have the slightest doubts, they manage to reinforce that they are at least as bad, if not worse, as I portray them. After my previous two experiences (documented earlier in this blog), this week I got a letter…. I open the letter.“Dear Mr. Graham BirdOn behalf of all of us at KQED, I want to thank you for your continued support.

Are we there yet?

I’m an avid participant in an email list that notionally discusses the works of Patrick O’Brian – especially the Aubrey & Maturin series of books.

KQED: Non Profit update…..

I decided not, and resolved to grovel if I got a response fro their General Manager….Well, I got something, but not what I was hoping…… Last week a letter arrived stating that they hadn’t heard from me (translation – ‘you haven’t sent any money’), which is patently untrue, I sent a detailed letter.

Perhaps progress

Jackie Huba bought new headphones recently and praised the packaging. I commented there that, perhaps, marketers are starting to get the message.
